Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern

An ideal client for me would be someone who has decided they have had enough and is ready to start the healing process. My approach is direct and transparent with an understanding vibe. My passion is working with young adults and couples. This Therapy journey won't be easy but it will be worth it. I have worked with various populations in different positions in the mental health field from case management to Marriage and Family Therapy. I am straightforward and direct in my therapeutic approach which consists of Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and more. As a Puerto Rican female raised in a family of abuse, we are taught to be seen not heard and to keep bad things a secret. From an early age I knew that being silent would not be my life. It was not in my character and it was not what I felt was the right way. My mission is to be the voice for the voiceless and stop generational trauma. PERIOD!

“I’m not sure why I just shared all of that with you” is a comment I have heard many times in my life and is one of the reasons I chose mental health counseling as a profession. When someone is hurting and senses they are in the presence of another who is truly curious about and accepting of them, they feel seen and understood. This is where healing takes place.

People in all stages of life journey through uncharted paths that can lead to confusion, anxiety, and despair. Getting relief from the pain that can feel devastating and hopeless seems like a never-ending war. It is possible to feel whole again. It is possible to live a life worth living.
Although I work with people at any stage in life, I specialize in working with teens and young adults who struggle with suicidal ideation, self-harm, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I also have years of experience working with those in addiction and those coming out of human trafficking. I would welcome your invitation to walk with you in your journey!
